About the Build
Leading the pack in it’s class, the OPEN WI.DE. is now ready for you to demo and see what it’s all about.
Biggest difference between the U.P. and this WI.DE., is the big tire clearance and wide range 1x drivetrain. Single chainring specific frame allows for massive tire clearance, and the dual dropped chainstays keeps the rear end nice and tight for a snappy, playful ride feel. Stack gets brought up while the reach is reduced, giving you ultimate control on technical terrain, whether you are doing an epic gravel-grinder weekend or ripping it up on mountain bike trails that most roadies wouldn’t dare touch. This bike is the best when it comes to point and shoot when picking your way down to the bottom of the descent.
Campagnolo was brought back into the mass spotlight when they launched their EKAR 1×13 gravel-specific groupset. Using their new N3W freehub, they made the cassette stiffer and lighter, with less parts, without implicating durability, all the while adding a 9t small cog. The smaller top end cog allows for exceptional range whilst maintaining good chainline for the majority of your ride time, especially with it being paired to a smaller front chainring. Small chainrings are great for getting up steep hills, especially off-road, and let you save that granny-gear for when the climb truly pitches up. The thumb lever is a love-it/hate-it for most. Campagnolo really nailed this one down, for the drops. The drops is the most stable position on a drop-bar bike, most notably when descending, and the right EKAR thumb lever is perfectly placed for you to ever so slightly move your thumb to dump the cassette into high-gear.
Seize this opportunity to see just why we love working with OPEN so much and experience some of the finest Italian engineering.
