Enve carbon road bars

Here’s a new carbon road handle bar from Enve Composites. Thoughtful, precise, and innovative are words that best describe this bar.  They are designed to provide comfort without gimmicky “ergonomics”.  Every contour is designed to fit the hand and allow for a custom placement of brake levers and drop position.  As with all ENVE products functionality is priority #1.  Features like recessed dual cable routing and integrated bar end plugs are standard fare on this light weight road bar.  The end result is a trustworthy bar that will not yield under any demand you place on it. The built in rubber bar end folds over to give a nice look.

Fork service donation to KYMBA

We’re very excited to see the growth KYMBA has had here in Louisville in the past two years. They’ve done an amazing job with the local trails. We can’t always make it out to the trail days as we are busy fixing bikes usually. We have came up with a way to offer some support though. For every fork we service in the month of march we will donate $10 of the service to KYMBA. We’ve done four already so will make those ones count too! Let’s keep it going, chances are you probably need some new seals and oil. Get your fork fixed and donate to a worthy cause at the same time!

If your fork has not been serviced in a while, chances are the oil looks something like this. New oil will keep it from wearing out and it will work better.

Upland Louisville Gran Fondo

Well, this is going to be awesome!

On May 19th, 2012, Upland Brewing Co. is bringing the Gran Fondo cycling tradition to Louisville with three timed road courses that, like Upland, bring Indiana and Louisville together: the 100+ mile Gran Fondo, a 50-60 mile Medio Fondo, and a 30-40 mile Piccolo Fondo.

All routes begin and end at Thurman Hutchins Park. The Gran Fondo route crosses the river for a trip around Floyds Knobs before crossing back into Kentucky and journeying through the city of Louisville, Iroquois Park, and Jefferson Memorial Forest. Take two of the best road riding areas in Kentuckiana and combine them together with live music, food, and beer. You cant really ask for anything more. Find out more here.

Sub9 Death March

It’s not to late to register for this one…

Teams of two compete to be the first to reach a select list of historical cemeteries in and around the Hoosier National Forest. A digital picture in front of each cemetery sign will be proof of reaching the check-point. Teams will race to five mandatory check-points, two of which will be drawn and announced the morning of the event. Check-points can be reached in any order, using any route. Find out more here.

New Scott Bikes

These new bikes just arrived today! For the ladies we have the Contessa Speedster 15 featuring durable and economical Shimano 105 parts on a 6061 double butted alloy frame for a lightweight bike at a reasonable price.

We also received another one of the Scale 29er’s. The Team model  is a lightweight and strong 29” hardtail. With Shimano brakes, SLX/Deore drivetrain, and the same celebrated geometry as its carbon siblings, it gives you a great value in a big wheeled bike.

Campagnolo Record 11

While most bikes are built with Shimano or SRAM components, Campagnolo is rarely seen. It is not like the others. Some may say it is the absence from the common market that makes that heart grow fonder or perhaps it’s the rich cycling heritage? There will always will be a debate on which brand is better, but the answer often comes down to purely personal preference. One thing is for sure – the fit and finish of the 2012 Campagnolo Record Gruppo is superb. Custom bikes are a passion of ours around the shop, and we have been lucky to have finished many of these carefully spec’d, bespoke bicycles in Campy. After the build we also stock the small parts, shifter rebuild kits, Ut bearings, cables and chains.

We also ride it and love it. If you want to build a bike with Campy or need service on your Campagnolo equipped bike please be in touch.
