The KyMBA Louisville trail team in collaboration with Olmsted Conservancy and Metro Parks kicks off another new trail at Cherokee park next weekend. This new trail will replace a low lying connector that runs from the exit of Cochran Hill over to the grassy area at the bottom of Baringer Hill. The current segment is more of a connector than a trail. The new trail will flow along the hillside closely tracking the contours of the landscape just as Fredrick Law Olmsted would have designed.
We had previously scheduled an impromptu trail day this Sunday however this has been scratched due to a mechanical issue with the grading equipment (SK650) we planned to use. If all goes well we should have plenty of trail cut with the SK650 mini skid steer by Saturday, April 2 @ 12:00 PM and will need trail volunteers to start finish work. You can get up to date information by signing up on the meetup site click here. Take a look at the KYMBA site here for a sketch of the trail plan.
